Job Description

A highly reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to perform a variety of billing and e-billing functions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electronic billing platforms, along with strong proficiency in generating, reviewing, and submitting manual invoices. This role also includes responsibility for tracking and processing client deductions and appeals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all billing functions are completed in accordance with established client guidelines for both electronic and paper billing.
  • Manage timely and accurate billing across routine and complex billing arrangements.
  • Interpret and apply complex billing guidelines, track appeals, and handle specialty billing scenarios.
  • Maintain regular communication with attorneys, support staff, and clients to resolve billing issues.
  • Assist with setting up timekeepers, rates, and matters on electronic vendor systems.
  • Proactively maintain accurate documentation and verify billing data across all systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Minimum of three years of e-billing experience in an insurance defense or similar legal environment strongly preferred.
  • Aderant experience required; Bill Blast strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation aligned with professional service standards.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with a detail-focused mindset.
